Peter Grendzinski, 72, died at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley Tuesday, March
6, 1873. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 8, 10:30 a.m. at
St. Hedwig’s Chapel. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery.

Grendzinski, Peter W. (12 Jun 1900 – 6 Mar 1973)
Peter W. Grendzinski, 72, died of heart failure at Victory Memorial Hospital,
Stanley, on Tuesday, March 6, 1973. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s
Catholic Church on Thursday, March 8th. Father Will Grelle officiated, with
interment being made in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Louis Papierniak, Alex Lewan, Stanley Lewan, Charlie
Deniskiewicz, Stanley Kosik and Ignatz Przybylski.
Mr. Grendzinski, a retired farmer, was born June 12, 1900 in Thorp. On August
27, 1927 he was united in marriage at St. Stanislaus Church, Lublin, to Mary
Bando. They lived in Chicago for three years, and in 1931 they moved back to
Thorp and farmed until 1962, when they retired and moved to the City of Thorp,
where he lived until the time of death.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; five sons, William, Phillipsburg, Montana,
Raymond, Thorp, Edmund, Anaheim, California, Jon, Mankato, Minnesota, Alvin, Eau
Claire; one brother, Alex Grendzinski, Thorp; one sister, Pauline Kramicz,
Thorp; six grandchildren, Kenneth and Arlene of Chicago, and Tina and Brian of
Mankato, Minnesota, Mark and Lisa of Thorp; 1 step-grandson, Robert Sournier of
Chicago, and nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two sons, his parents, Albert and Margaret, and two
sisters, Mary and Johanna.
