Clark Co. Rural Letter Carriers (Retirees – 21 April 1979)
The Clark County Rural Letter Carrier’s Association and Auxiliary held their
spring meeting, April 21, at the Thorp Legion Hall, beginning with an evening
banquet.
Honored at the banquet was Fred J. Hedler, who retired after serving as a
substitute rural carrier for 33 years. He was presented with a retirement
certificate and a tie clasp with a rural letter carrier insignia.
Joining Hedler were Kenneth Kanneberg, Loyal, who retired after serving as rural
carrier for 27 years; and Ernest Aeschbacher, Granton, who retired after serving
as rural carrier for 21 years. They each received a retirement certificate and a
gift of money.
Three new Rural Letter Carriers, Ray Oestreich of Loyal, Harlan Schnabel of
Granton and Joe Kremsreiter of Abbotsford, were recognized.
After the presentations, the Carriers and Auxiliary met separately for their
business meetings. Representing the state board at t he Carriers’ meeting was
State Vice-President Irvin Feit of Mosinee. Attending the Auxiliary meeting was
the chairman of the state executive committee, Margaret Govek, Willard.
The Carriers elected Russell Vandeberg of Neillsville as President, Leonard
Galarowicz of Owen as Vice-President and Frank Govek of Willard as
Secretary-Treasurer. The auxiliary elected Marge Riley of Owen as President, Mae
Burchert of Withee, as Vice-President and Lucille Kalsow as Secretary-treasurer.
