Gibbs, Lila E. (1908? – 04 May 1973)
Mrs. Lila E. Gibbs, 64, route 6, Chippewa Falls, died Friday at Luther Hospital
in Eau Claire.
The former Lila Brown was born at Stanley and was married to Reid Gibbs in 1927.
The couple farmed in Worden Township (Clark Co.) until moving to Chippewa Falls
in 1954.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was also a charter member of the Thorp Friendly Neighbor Club.
Surviving are a daughters, Mrs. Taylor Murphy, Cuba, Illinois; three sons,
Leonard, Wausau, Howard, Route 6, and Lavern, Sturtevant; two sisters, Mrs.
Joseph Czubin, Bristol, and Mrs. Leo Greene, South Bend, Washington; a brother,
Kenneth, Sun Prairie, and 15 grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Reverend
Paul Smith officiating. Burial was made in Oaklawn Cemetery, Stanley.
