Hoeper, Kennith A. (21 September 1952 – 1 September 2021) With Flag.
Kennith A. Hoeper, age 68, of Curtiss, passed away surrounded by his loving
family at Marshfield Medical Center on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Ken was born on September 21, 1952, the son of Phillip and Donna (Lukens) Hoeper
in Garrison, ND. He grew up in Omaha, NE and graduated from Westside High School
in 1970. Ken enlisted in the US Army following graduation, where he was
stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. He service took him to Greece, Germany and
Turkey.
Ken was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Linda Davis on August
18, 1973, in Omaha, NE. They welcomed their son in 1974, while stationed in
Kansas. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he attended University of
Nebraska-Omaha for civil engineering. In 1975, they moved to Owen-Withee and in
1979 they welcomed their daughter. They have been in the area ever since.
Ken was a volunteer fireman and EMT for Owen-Withee Fire Department for 15
years. He enjoyed helping and the friendships with his fellow volunteers. He
worked manufacturing for many years at Weather Shield, Northland, Kerry and
Conagra, before landing a job at Midwest Aluminum now Wakefield Thermal. He
moved from maintenance to shipping and loved delivering aluminum extrusions in
the Midwest. His great joy was his family and especially his grandkids: Brianna,
Nathan, Duncan, Dakota, Zachary and Braelynn.
Ken is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda of Curtiss; two children: Jasen
P. (Connie) Hoeper of Colby and Natasha B. (Jason) Zarins of Withee and his six
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Karen Humphrey.
A Private Family Visitation will be held. A Celebration of his life will be held
on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Norteno in
Curtiss. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the
arrangements.
