Frank Pietras, 82, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley on Sunday, May 27, 1973

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 30 at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial was made in the parish cemetery (Old St. Hedwig’s).

Pietras, Frank (22 Sep 1890 – 27 May 1973)

Frank Pietras, 82, passed away of a stroke on May 27, 1973 at Victory Memorial Nursing Home, Stanley. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church Wednesday, May 30, with Father Will officiating at the 10:30 a.m. service. Interment was made in the St. Hedwig’s Old Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Walter Zurakowski, Mike Kaminski, William Tobola, Clarence Novobielski, John Mozgowiec and Val Wyczawski.

Mr. Pietras was born September 22, 1890 in Oswiecim, Poland, coming to the states in 1907 and settling in St. Louis, Missouri, and later living in Dearing, Kansas and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In June of 1909 he was united in marriage at St. Louis, Missouri to Zofia Rzeznik, who preceded him in death, November 22, 1953.

Surviving are three sons, Walter at home, Stanley of North Riverside, Illinois, Joe of San Pablo, California; one daughter, Pauline at home; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
