Barkes, Raymond R. (Promotion – 1979)
Recently promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Neillsville unit of the
National Guard was Raymond R. Barkes, a cook. Sgt. Barkes served four years in
the U.S. Air Force prior to signing up with the local Guard in 1977. A graduate
of the University of Minnesota, Sgt. Barkes is employed by Greenwood Milk
Products and resides in that community with his wife, Darlene, and two children.
