Karpinski, Anastasia “Nettie” (12 Sep 1897 – 2 Jul 1973)
Nettie Karpinski, 75, died at her home on July 2, 1973 of an apparent heart
attack. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church on Thursday,
July 5th, with Father John Puerner officiating at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial
was made in the Old St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Charles Gutowski,
Sr., Anton Plechacek, Frank Tomkowiak, Walter Pajak, Elmer Kuester and Charles
Deniszkiewicz.
Nettie Walczak was born September 12, 1897 in Poland. She came to the states in
1013, living in Chicago for a few years, and the rest of the time in Thorp. In
1922 she was united in marriage at St. Hedwig’s Church to Henry Karpinski, who
passed away in 1968. After her marriage they lived in the town of Reseburg and
in 1969 moved to the city of Thorp.
Surviving are three daughters, Melania Karpinski of Thorp, (Martha) Mrs. Victor
Wojt of Thorp, (Dorothy) Mrs. Ralph Rhodes of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, and
one sister, Mrs. Anna Skoney of Woodstock, Illinois.
