Amdahl, Ingvald M. (12 Aug 1892 – 6 Jul 1973)
Funeral services for Ingvald Martin Amdahl, age 80, of Stanley, Wisconsin, were
held at 2 p.m. July 2, 1973 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, with the
Reverend Norman L. Sifferath officiating. Mr. Amdahl passed away Friday at
Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley.
He was born August 12, 1892 at Porters Mills, Wisconsin, son of Andrew and Marit
Amdahl. He grew up in Stanley and after his marriage to Otilda Brensa n February
28, 1920 in the Town of Thorp. They farmed in the Town of Thorp. They moved to
Stoughton, Wisconsin and then moved to Oconomowoc, where they lived for ten
years. They then moved back to the Town of Thorp, where they lived and farmed
for many years. He retired eight years ago. He was a member of Our Savior’s
Lutheran Church of Stanley.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Helen) Trox of Stanley and Mrs.
Gerald Berres of Lodi, Wisconsin; two brothers, Alvin of Boyd and Edward of
Madison; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1971, one daughter and two
sisters.
Burial was made in the East Side Cemetery near Stanley.
