Holub, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin (Ruby – 12 August 1979)
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Holub celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday,
July 28, with a reception and dance at the American Legion Hall, Neillsville.
The Holubs were married in Black River Falls by a Justice of the Peace. Of their
original attendants, Edward Holub of Neillsville and Olga Schoolcraft of Black
River Falls were present.
For their anniversary, Mrs. Holub wore a light beige, flowered formal while her
husband wore a brown suit. Both had red carnations and lily of the valley
flowers. They also had a three-tier cake decorated with red roses, gold leaves,
and gold lace; the cake was made by Gerrie Schultz.
Ervin was born in Buckly, Michigan, and attended the Meadow View School in the
Town of Levis. Elsie Holub was born in Hatfield and went to the Clay School in
the Town of Komensky. They now reside on Rt. 2 Neillsville. Elsie is employed at
Nelson Filter while Ervin is retired after 28 years with the Farmers Union Co-op
feed mill.
The couple have one child, Harold, who also lives on Rt. 2 Neillsville.
Out-of-town guests included Blanche Paulson and Mr./Mrs. Tom Paulson, San
Pierre, Ind.; Mr./Mrs. Ronald Komarek, Mr./Mrs. James Kunes & family & niece,
Kathy and Olga Borvzen, of Lyons, Ill.; Mr./Mrs. James Slavicek, Brookfield,
Ill.; James Slavicek III, Fairborn, Oh; Mr./Mrs. Raymond Wittenborn, Cicero,
Ill.; and Lovetta Marek, Mr/Mrs. Harvey Schoolcraft, Mr./Mrs. Kenneth
Schoolcraft & family and Mr./Mrs. Harry Schoolcraft & family, of Black River
Falls.
And numerous relatives and friends from Greenwood, Neillsville, and Hatfield
area also attended the celebration, which was organized for the Holubs by their
son and daughter-in-law, Mr./Mrs. Harold Holub.
