Zimmerman, Kathleen “Kathy” (14 May 1952 – 15 September 2021)
Kathy Zimmerman, 69, of Merrillan, passed away September 15, 2021, in her home.
Kathy was born May 14, 1952, in Black River Falls to Roy, Jr. and Genevie Eddy.
The Eddy's resided in Merrillan, with Kathy graduating from Lincoln High School
in 1970.
In 1971, Kathy married Duane Slaughter. They divorced in 1980. Kathy later
married Paul Zimmerman, whom she was married to for 28 years. Kathy and her
family moved around the country for Paul’s work, living in Arkansas, Oklahoma,
Florida, Alabama, and multiple places around Wisconsin, before settling back in
her hometown.
Kathy frequently stated that her children and grandchildren were her greatest
gifts and was happiest when they were all together enjoying a theme night
dinner, playing board games or cards, or just grilling out and watching the
grandkids jump on the trampoline she bought them. She also enjoyed mountain dew,
get-togethers with her life-long high school friends, going to the casino and
playing bingo, card playing, and making food for her visitors in her air fryer.
Kathy worked hard throughout her entire life but is best known by many from Kwik
Trip in Black River Falls, where she worked for many years.
Kathy is survived by her four daughters, Tanya (Dan) Overlien, of Black River
Falls, Jennifer (Cory) Fisher, of Rapid City, SD, Megan Zimmerman, of Black
River Falls, and Karli (Matt Winchell) Zimmerman, of Humbird; 11 grandchildren,
Kiley and Kasey, Paige, Katelyn, Bree and Harrison, Alice, Marlee, Myles, Kohen
and Kendrix “Lulu,” her sister, Pam (Randy) Brown, of Merrillan, as well as
numerous other family and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Brenda, brothers, Jeff, and
Rick, and niece, Wendy, as well as other cherished family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, September 24, 2021, at
