Ecke, Mr./Mrs. Henry (50th – 28 MAY 1958)
Dorchester – Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ecke observed their golden wedding anniversary
with open house on Sunday, May 25 at their home. About 100 friends and relatives
called to congratulate the couple.
The Rev. Fred Kollath gave a talk and the couple renewed their marriage vows,
after which a cafeteria lunch was served to all present. A wedding cake in the
form of a cross with miniature church and miniature dolls decorated the table.
Mrs. Ecke wore a blue and grey print dress with a corsage of gold and pink
roses.

The couple were married at Wisconsin Reformed Church, Curtiss, on May 28, 1908,
with the Rev. Lahr officiating.
Mr. Ecke was born at Hilbert, on June 17, 1886, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August
Ecke. He received his education at rural schools there. Mrs. Ecke, the former
Clara Louise Janning, was born Sept. 27, 1885, at Newton. She is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Janning and received her education at schools in Newton.
After their marriage, they lived on a farm near Colby until 1915; then they
moved to Dodgeville for four years; then moved back to a farm near Curtiss where
they lived for 17 years. In 1941 they moved to Marshfield for 13 years, where
Mr. Ecke was employed at Roddis Plywood Corp. Since August 1952, they have lived
in their present home in retirement.
Mr. Ecke works at paperhanging and painting as a part time job and hobby. The
couple are both in good health. They are members of Peace Church.
