Dorchester – Mrs. Henry (Clara) Ecke, 81, Spencer, formerly of Dorchester, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, where she had been a patient the past six weeks. She had been in ill health for the past six months.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester with the Rev. Hugh Evans officiating. Burial will be made in the Dorchester Memorial North (Peace) Cemetery.

The body will repose at the Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester from 2 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday, and then at the church.

The former Clara Louisa Janing was born Sept. 27, 1885, in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County, and received her education there. Her marriage to Henry Ecke took place May 28, 1908, at Curtiss.

After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Curtiss area for 21 years, then resided for 13 years in Marshfield where Mr. Ecke was employed at the Roddis Plywood Corporation plant (now Weyerhaeser Company).

The couple then made their home in Dorchester until two months ago, when they moved to Spencer.

Mrs. Ecke was a member of Peace United Church of Christ at Dorchester and its Woman’s Guild.

In addition to her husband, survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Mildred) Voss, Abbotsford; Miss Levi Ecke, Sheboygan; and Mrs. Louis (Verna) Dering, Spencer; a son, Harland Ecke, Spencer; a sister, Mrs.; Louisa Bub, Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
