Dorchester – Henry Ecke, 86, a former Dorchester resident, died at 11:15 a.m.
Thursday, Nov 23, at the Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin, where he had resided
for the past four years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in
Dorchester, the Rev. Milton Petzold, pastor, will officiate and interment will
be in the Dorchester Memorial North (Peace) Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester after 3 p.m.
Saturday.
Mr. Ecke was born June 17, 1886, at Abrams, Oconto County, and he was married
May 28, 1908, at Curtiss, to the former Clara Janing, who preceded him in death
Sept. 24, 1967. He farmed in the Curtiss area for 21 years; lived in Prentice
for several years, and then in Marshfield where he was employed for 13 years at
the former Roddis Plywood Company plant. Following his retirement in 1952 he
moved to Dorchester.
He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Harland, Spencer, and Levi, Sheboygan; two
daughters, Mrs. Ed (Mildred) Voss, route 1, Abbotsford and Mrs. Louis (Verna)
Vernig, Spencer; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers for the service will be grandsons of Mr. Ecke, Lannie Voss, Eddie
Voss, Dennis Dering, Larry Dering, Louise Ecke and Daniel Ecke.
