Dergance, Matt (17 July 1920 – 5 August 1979)

Matt Dergance, 59, formerly of Willard, died at noon on Sunday, August at his home in Hillside, Illinois. He was born July 17, 1920, in Willard, and received his education in the Willard schools.

In 1948, he moved to Hillside, where he was employed in the electromotive division of General Motors, LaGrange, Illinois. He married Helen Laken in Willard in 1947.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Jim and Sue, both of Hillside and three brothers, Vernon and Edwin Dergance, both of Willard, and Albin of Hillside. And a brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 9, at the Holy Family Cemetery, with the Rev. James J. Lesczynski, officiating. Pallbearers were George Laken, Tony Migon, Joe Jeras, Jim Junel, Richard Verschay and Randy Thermos. The Rinka Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.
