Hemp, Paul L. (24 April 1904 - 13 August 1979)

A Neillsville native, Paul L. Hemp, 75, passed away on August 13, in a Rochester, Minnesota, convalescent home. Mr. Hemp, who succumbed to cancer, was the owner of the nationally known Hemp Antique Vehicle Museum in Rochester. He operated the museum for over 20 years.

Hemp was born on April 24, 1904, in Neillsville. On October 8, 1926, he married Helen M. Eisentraut in Globe ceremonies. A few years later, the couple moved to Rochester. He was a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Antique Auto Club and the Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Carl of Hastings, Mn., one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ann) Olafson of Fargo, N.D., two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Poppe and Mrs. Clara Mitte, both of Neillsville, and one brother, Leo, Neillsville. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Memorial services were to be held this Thursday afternoon in Rochester’s Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery after cremation.
