Lenzkow, Vlasta “Tess” (3 January 1893 – 13 August 1979)
Mrs. Herman (Vlasta “Tess”) Lenzkow, age 86, of Neillsville, passed away in her
home this past Monday, August 13.
She was born on January 3, 1893, in Chicago to Frank and Marie (Koziseck) Triska.
After receiving her education in Chicago, she worked in a dress shop in that
city until moving with her parents to Clark County. On October 15, 1911, she
married Herman A. Lenzkow. The couple farmed in the Town of Grant for many years
until moving to Neillsville in 1944.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Dux of Marshfield and Mrs. Alice
Tinnell of Cuyahoga Falls, Oh., one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Lillian) Rasch of
Wilmette, Ill., seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding
her in death was her husband in 1952, one infant daughter, four sisters and one
brother.
Funeral services were to be held this Friday at 10 a.m. from St. John’s
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff
officiating. Burial was to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The body
was to lie in state Thursday evening from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Friday morning
until noon at the Gesche Funeral Home, as well as one hour prior to services at
the church.

Lenzkow, Vlasta G. (3 January 1893 – 13 August 1979)
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Herman (Vlasta G.) Lenzkow on the afternoon
of August 17 from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Mrs.
Lenzkow, 86, passed away on August 13. With the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff
officiating, burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Ronnie Rose, Donald Glaman, Chester Krasne, Stephen
Tichy, David Krutch and Allan Stanley. “The 23rd Psalm” and “I’m But A Stranger
Here” were the musical selections offered by Cathy Quast as vocalist,
accompanied by Paul Tess.
Attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Larry McCormick, Cuyahoga
Falls, Oh.; Mr./Mrs. Ron Rowe, Naperville, Ill.; Mr./Mrs. Joe Rasch, Wilmette,
Ill.; Mrs. James Triska, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; Gale Bernett, Sparta; Mr./Mrs. Byrl
Rowe, Owen; Mr./Mrs. Donald Alaman and Chester Krasne, Marshfield; and Dennis
Glaman, Fond du Lac.
