Three students from the Thorp area have been named to receive the Chancellor’s
Award for academic excellence during the second semester at UW-Stout, Menomonie.
They are: Arnoldine Gulcynski, a freshman majoring in psychology, Route 2,
Thorp; Arlene Leszewski, a senior majoring in dietetics and the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Leszewski Jr., Route 3, Thorp; and Dennis Karnopp, a senior
majoring in marketing and distributive education and the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Karnopp, 200 N. Boardman Street, Thorp.
The award replaces what has been traditionally known as the Dean’s List, and is
presented to students who have a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above.
