Cardarelle (Reunion – 18 August 1979)
Over 60 descendants of the Liberato and Mary (Duschak) Cardarelle family
gathered August 18 in Neillsville’s Schuster Park for a reunion picnic. It was
the first time that the family rejoined enmasse since 1960.
The patriarch of the family, Liberato, emigrated from Italy to America in 1879.
His future wife emigrated from Bohemia one year later. Mr. and Mrs. Cardarelle
moved to the Neillsville area in 1890, homesteading on what is now known as the
River Road in the Town of Pine Valley in Sec. 33.
The couple had nine children, including five sons, John, Joe, Mike, Louie and
Tony; and four daughters, Mrs. Ann Anthony, Mrs. Zanza Cook, Mrs. Amelia Hagie
and Mrs. Vivian Denkmann. All are now deceased.
Attending the reunion were Gen Cardarelle, Mr./Mrs. R. Waldo Anderson &
children, Krista, David, Jeffrey, Lee and Steven, Mr./Mrs. Frank Cardarelle &

Mrs. Hada Cardarelle, Ardelle Cardarelle & son Jeff, Mr/Mrs. Donald Cardarelle &
