Mary L. Anderson, 76, of Stanley, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Oakbrook
Health and Rehab Center-Thorp. She was born on June 3, 1945, in St. Paul, MN„
the daughter of the late Allen and Barbara (Carlson) Burgland. Mary grew up in
the Twin Cities and graduated from Wilson High School in St. Paul. She worked at
Honner Walldorf for three years where she met John Anderson. They were married
on November 5, 1966. The couple settled south of Stanley and farmed.
Mary also worked for LaGrander's Cheese for 23 years until retirement. She
enjoyed her retirement by being with her grandkids and great grandchildren; they
were the joy of her life. Mary was proud of her two boys and her grandchildren.
She enjoyed her bowling league and her shopping trips and pedicures with her
granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John; sons: Mark (Sharon) Anderson
of Stanley and LeRoy (Kathy) Anderson of Altoona; one brother, Gary (Diane)
Burgland of White Bear Lake, MN.; six grandchildren: Zach (Tasha) Anderson of
Owen, Danielle (Randy) Lloyd of Chippewa Falls, Emily (Ben) Anderson of Stanley,
Alex of Thorp, Chloee' (Wyatt) Anderson of Thorp and Hannah Anderson of Altoona,
two step-grandchildren: Teegan (Chelsea) Brock of Altoona and Trever (Leah)
Brock of Minneapolis; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Duane; sister-in-law,
Sandy Berglund; and a great- granddaughter, Layla Lloyd.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the
Plombon Funeral Home- Stanley. Visitation was one hour prior to the service
Wednesday.
