On this coming Sunday, August 19, 1973, the Reverend Cecil A. Ward will be preaching at the worship services of the Thorp United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Reverend Ward served as pastor of the Methodist churches of Stanley, Thorp and Withee from the winter of 1954 until the summer of 1962, when he retired and moved back to his homeland, England. Throughout the intervening years he has sent to the Thorp Courier, a weekly column, “Pilgrim’s Progress.”
