Military News (Ludwig/Smith - 1979)
A Marine promotion and an Army announcement that an area enlistee had completed
special training were received recently.
Marine Lance Cpl. Paul Ludwig, formerly of Rt. 2 Neillsville, has been promoted
to his present rank while serving at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center,
Twentynine Palms, California. A 1978 graduate of Neillsville High School, he
joined the Cops in May of 1978.
Sgt. Clifford Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Smith, Rt 1 Neillsville,
recently completed the motor officer course at the U.S. Army Armor Center, Fort
Knox, Kentucky.
Sgt. Smith received instruction in supervision of vehicular operation and
maintenance. Smith’s wife, Ilona, is with him at the fort.
