Chester Slipek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Slipek, Route 1, Thorp, and Robert
Zukowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zukowski, Route 1, Thorp, who will begin
studying at the University of Wisconsin, River Fall this September, have been
awarded a University ow Wisconsin, River Falls Foundation Scholarship.
Foundation scholarships are limited to student ranking in the upper tenth of
their high school graduating class and are made possible through gifts from
alumni, faculty and foundations. Selection of recipients is made by a
scholarship committee at the University. This year Foundation Scholarships
ranging from $100 to $300 we awarded to over 100 incoming freshmen.
Chester Slipek, a 1973 graduate of Thorp High School, is a member of the
National Honor Society, the high school drama club and the Letterman’s Club. He
was delegate to a recent high school agricultural conventiosn. He plans to study
agriculture at UW-River Falls.
