Zais, Wenzel M. (1 May 1933 – 12 Aug 1973)
Wenzel M. Zais, 40, 3417 Midway, Eau Claire, died Sunday afternoon at Sacred
Heart Hospital.
He was born May 1, 1933 at Boyd and attended Augusta High School. On August 9,
1955 he married Janet Mikolainis at Thorp. Before moving to Eau Claire in 1965,
they reside in Stanley for 10 years. From 1951 to 1963, he was a member of the
Wisconsin National Guard. As a member of St. Olaf’s parish, he served as
treasurer of the school board, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and was
affiliated with Cub Pack 107 and Troop 107. He was employed at Holsum Bakers,
Inc., Eau Claire as a Sales Supervisor.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; three sons, Michael, Jeffrey, Patrick, and
one daughter, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Zais, Boyd’ and five
sisters, Mrs. Linda Webber, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Mary Dierich, Cadott, Mrs.
Shirley Swim, Stanley, Sister Carol Jean, SDS, Wauwatosa, and Miss Alberta Zais,
Menomonie.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 15, 1973 at 12:20 p.m. at Prock
Funeral Home, with the funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church,
with Father Myron Meinen officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery.
