Barney, Helen I. (26 December 1903 – 22 September 1979)
Helen I. Barney, 75, Eau Claire, died September 22 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau
Claire. The former Helen Thompkins was born in Eau Claire and married James
Barney, August 11, 1924, in Eau Claire.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Huls, Allen Park, Mich.; three sons,
Patrick Barney of Humbird, The Rev. James Barney, Necedah, and William at home;
two sisters, Mildred Mackcow, Crystal, Mn., Margaret McCormick, Van Nuys,
Calif.; five brothers, Art and Floyd Thompkins of Minneapolis, Loyd Thompkins,
Aitken, Mn., and Wesley Thompkins of Michigan City, Indiana; and twelve
grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday morning at Golden Funeral Home in Eau Claire and at
St. James Church in Eau Claire, with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
