Beloat, Roy (25 January 1927 – 19 September 1979)
Roy Beloat, 52, of Greenwood, died shortly before noon, September 19, in his
rural home. A heart attack was believe the cause. He was born on January 25,
1927, in Liberty, Arizona, before joining the merchant marine.
On December 1, 1945, he married Bernice Gardner in Brownsville, Oregon,
ceremonies. He then was employed as a saw mill planer in Oregon and California
moving to Greenwood area in 1971 and working as a farmer.
Surviving him besides his wife, are two sons, Stanley of Klamath Falls, Oregon,
and Vernon of Valders; a daughter, Mrs. David (Connie) Dearth, Owen; one
brother, Dick of Vista, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Zell (Dale) Myers of Valley
Center, Calif., Mrs. Joe (Norma) Culver of Gerber, Calif.; and Dan (Joanne)
Goyer of Anderson, Calif. Also, his father, Roy E. Beloat, of Corning, Calif.,
and four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie and a
brother, Stanley.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, September 22, from the Christian
Missionary Alliance Church, Owen, with the Rev. Howard Reed officiating. Burial
was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Marilyn Hagen and Lydia Awe provided music.
Serving as pallbearers were Gene Adams, David Clouse, Bernard Clouse, Robert
Worden, Berry Keller and Douglas Braithwaite. The Rinka Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
