Wold, Alvin J. (17 May 1900 – 19 October 1979)

A former owner of the Christie Feed Mill and Store, Alvin J. Wold. 79, passed away on October 19 in Neillsville Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

Wold was born on May 17, 1900, to Ole and Nellie (Livgard) Wold in Anoka, Minnesota. After his education, he worked in the Anoka area, later moving to Racine where he farmed and worked. It was there that he married Dorothy Larsen on September 30, 1938. In 1955, the Wold family moved to Christie where he operated a feed mill and store until retiring in 1967. He continued to live in Christie until his death and was a member of St. John’s congregation.

Wold is survived by his wife, one son, Russell, Appleton, and two grandchildren. Preceding him in death were three sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with the Gesche Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Wold, Alvin J. (17 May 1900 - 19 October 1979)

Alvin J. Wold, 79, passed away in Neillsville Memorial Hospital on October 19. With the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating, he was buried in the Neillsville City Cemetery following services from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, on the afternoon of October 22. St. John’s School Choir, accompanied by Paul Tess, offered “The 23rd Psalm” and “I’m But A Stranger Here” as music for the service.

Serving as pallbearers were Ken Sherren, Bob Bell, Bob Ladd, Ben Urban, Gary and Terry Larsen.

Attending the services were friends and relatives from Walcott, Ia; Redwood Falls and Anoka, Mn.; Texas and the Wisconsin communities of Racine, Ogema and Fort Atkinson.
