Hargraves, Josephine Mary “Joanie” (18 October 1945 – 6 October 2021)
Josephine “Joanie” Mary Hargraves, age 75, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday,
October 6, 2021, at the Colonial Center in Colby.
Joanie was born on October 18, 1945, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Helen
(Hrobsky) Hargraves and stepdaughter of the late Dorothy Hargraves. She worked
as a caregiver for many years in Milan and the Wausau area. Joanie resided in
Dorchester, Greenwood and most recently Arpin.
Joanie loved helping other people. She will be remembered as a “simple” person,
who could remember special dates and events of relatives and friends.
Joanie is survived by her brother, Randy (JoAnn) Hargraves of Wausau; nephews:
Steven (Yamile) Hargraves of Chicago, Scott (Kelys) Hargraves of Franklin, Kevin
(Sonya) Prelipp of Hortonville and Steve (Kathleen) Kemps of Chicago; nieces,
Shawna Kemps and Sara (Kyle) Denisson; brother-in-law, Jack Kemps of Wausau; a
sister-in-law, Mary Ann Denzine; many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother; two brothers and three
sisters: Darlene (Jim) Prelipp, Charlene (Dennis) Koss, Patricia Kemps, Ronald
Denzine, and Douglas (Dottie) Denzine.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at
the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Visitation will be from 9:30
a.m. until time-of-service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at
St. Thomas Cemetery in Milan.
