Montgomery, Carl (4 March 1914 – 24 October 1979)
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 27, from St. Stephen’s
Catholic Church, Chili, for Carl Montgomery, 63, who passed away October 24, in
St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
With the Rev. Lawrence Berger officiating and the Gilbertson Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements, burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton.
Montgomery was born on March 4, 1914, in Velva, North Dakota, to Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Montgomery. On April 25, 1953, he married Betty Seefeldt in Woodstock,
Illinois, ceremonies. In 1958, they moved to the Town of Freemont and Carl was
employed by the Roddis Plywood Corporation until retiring in 1958.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, John of St. Peter, Minn., and William of
Granton; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Matzke, Troy, Mont.; and one brother, Frank,
Libby, Mont. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, six brothers and
two sisters.
