Pepper, Irma I. (13 November 1904 – 19 October 1979)
Funeral services for Irma I. Pepper, who died on October 19, were held at the
Cargill Methodist Chapel, Janesville, on October 22. Her six grandsons acted as
the pallbearers.
Irma I. Pepper was born to Ernest and Grace Rowe on November 13, 1904, in the
Town of York. She was educated in area rural schools and graduated from the
Neillsville High School. On May 6, 1927, she and George Everett Pepper were
united in marriage in Neillsville. The couple later moved to Janesville. They
also lived in several places in Illinois, came back to Neillsville, moved to
Custer, S.D., returning to Janesville in 1956, where he preceded her in death in
August 1972.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Betty Kapfer of Janesville,
Mrs. Ernest (Jane) Kissling of Neillsville, Mrs. Willie (Shirley) Murphy of
Sycamore, Ill., Geo. Allen Pepper of Rapid City, S.D. and Wayne R. Pepper of
Janesville. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Leland (Isla) Bandelow of
Menomonie and Mrs. Fern Borde of Albany, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, and five
great-grandchildren.
