Kowieski, Julianna (6 Aug 1878 – 18 Aug 1973)
Mrs. Julianna Kowieski, 95, former Thorp resident, died Saturday, August 18,
1973 in the Stanley Nursing Home.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, with Reverend Puerner
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Raymond Kowieski, Bill Kowieski, Roger Kowieski, John Jarocki,
Jim Kowieski and Donald Ryniec.
Survivors include four sons, Nick and Joe, both of Chicago, Mike, Auburndale,
Paul, Thorp; two daughters, Mrs. Victoria Jarocki and Mrs. Helen Ryniec, both of
Thorp; 22 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband in 1955 and one son.
She was born in Poland August 6, 1878 and was married there to John Kowieski
February 16, 1897. The couple moved to the Thorp area, where they farmed until
retiring in 1937 and moving to Thorp.

Grove, Illinois, Mrs. Frank Kowieski, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tomaskiewicz and
daughters, Glenview, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. John Jarocki and family, Eau Claire,
Mr. and Mrs. Casimir Jarocki and family, Duluth, Minnesota, Mrs. Jerry Olson and
family, Mrs. Frank Leschko and children, Janesville, Wisconsin, Mrs. Mike
Jorgensen and children, Mrs. Louis Kowieski and son, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mr.
and Mrs. Olaf Bjerke, Sister Rosaline Jansen and Sister Carmel E. Heart, Eau
Claire.
