Navy Machinist’s Mate, MMFN Jack Conklin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conklin Sr.
of Thorp, Wisconsin, has received orders to the USS La Salle, the flagship of
the Middle East, homeported in Manama, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia. His departure for
the ship, which is located on a British Navy Base in Saudi Arabia, will be late
October 1973. He will stay in the Mid-East until June 1976.
MMFN Conklin is currently station aboard the USS Robert L. Wilson (DD 847) in
Norfolk, Virginia, which is scheduled to change homeports to Philadelphia in
September.
MMFN Conklin is a 1972 graduate of Thorp High School.
