Cressy, Maxine (17 September 1908 – 13 November 1979)
Mrs. Maxine Cressy, 71, Maple lane Mobile Home Court, Loyal, died Wednesday in
St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Monday.
Mrs. Cressy, the former Maxine McKennon, was born September 17, 1908, in
Chicago, where she received her education and worked for the U.S. Army in the
Quartermaster Corps, for ten years. She also had been employed as a beautician
for 20 years.
In 1960, she moved to New Lisbon and came to this area in 1973. Her first
marriage was to George Dolle in June 1927. In 1943, she married Clifford Cressy
in Rock Island, Ill. He died in August 1972. She was a member of St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church in Loyal.
She is survived by a son Kenneth Dolle, Rt. 3 Greenwood; a sister Mrs. Mary
Geist, Loyal; 23 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. A son, a sister and
two brothers are deceased.
A prayer service was held Friday at the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral
services were held Satruday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal with the
Rev. Chester Osowski officiating, with burial made in the Greenwood Cemetery,
with pallbearers Kenneth Dolle, David Dolle, Thomas Dolle, Phillip Dolle, Thomas
Briski, Anthony Dolle and Walter Ormond.
