Syverson, William E. (21 January 1904 – 5 November 1979) With Flag

William E. Syverson, 75, of Merrillan died Monday, November 5, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital. He was born in Crawford County on January 21, 1904, to Daniel and Elizabeth Syverson. Following service with the Army during World War II, he was a farmer and wood pulp cutter in the Merrillan area.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Earl (Cynthia) Hawley, Mrs. William (Pearl) Cox of Boyd, Mrs. Max (Cora) Ritter of Stanley and Mrs. James (Ruth) Sprinkle of Fairchild, and a brother, Michel of Stanley.

Services were held Friday afternoon in the Assembly of God Church in Alma Center, with the Rev. Gordon Johnson officiating, and burial was in East lawn Cemetery at Alma Center. The Jensen Funeral Home at Hixton was in charge of the arrangements.
