Gall, Gale A. (2 August 1934 – 25 September 2021) With Flag

Gale “Baldy” A. Gall was born to Archie Gall and Carol Matheson in Neillsville Aug. 2, 1934. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and after exiting the service, briefly returned to Wisconsin until he eventually settled in California where he met his beautiful sweetheart, Hannelore “Susie” Gall.

He has many hobbies, including flying airplanes and helicopters, boating through out the California Delta, exploring the California coast and skiing the Sierra Nevada mountains. Baldy’s life was an adventure, and his enthusiasm always won the day, no matter what the challenge.

When he retired in 1998, Baldy and Susie decided to return to his hometown in Neillsville. Baldy enjoyed many things about his hometown, most of all spending time with friends and family, playing cards and frequenting all his favorite places in and around Neillsville. For many years, he was an active member of the gun club where he earned top shooting honors and awards and actively promoted all Veterans of Foreign War posts. He loved telling jokes. To Baldy, laughing was the best medicine.

He is survived by his wife, Susie, his two brothers, Melvin Gall and Bruce Hopkins; daughter Maria; son Kurt; granddaughters Megan and Marissa; and grandsons Lantz and Aric.

He will be deeply missed. Baldy reported for duty to our eternal Father for his next assignment September 25, 2021.
