Principal Floyd Hanley has announced the one student at Thorp High School has been named a Semi-finalist in the 1974 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The student is Roberta C. Amundson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Amundson. She will compete for one of about 3100 Merit Scholarships to be awarded in the spring. In the eighteen annual competition completed to date, 34650 student have won Merit Scholarships valued at more than $96.5 million.
