Wischniwezky, Elizabeth (16 February 1912 – 8 December 1979)

Yugoslavian native and Town of Grant and Neillsville resident for the past six years, Mrs. Ivan (Elizabeth) Wischniwezky, 67 passed away in the Neillsville Memorial Hospital on December 8, after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were to be held Wednesday morning, December 12, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating. Burial was to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with the Gesche Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She was born on February 16, 1912, in Yugoslavia to Mr. and Mrs. John Pramerhas, the deceased received her education in that country and then worked as a dressmaker. After the death of her first husband, Stefan Paul, she married John Wischniwezky in 1944. The couple moved to the United States in 1951 and lived in Chicago until 1973 when they moved to Neillsville, residing at 210 Grand Avenue. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Surviving her, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Kathy Wilke of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Elizabeth Almaide of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sons, Stefan Paul, Jr., and John Paul, both of Chicago; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Stephan Paul, Sr.
