Johnson, Leonard A. (26 April 1898 – 7 December 1979)
Leonard Johnson, 81, of Greenwood, died December 7, in Luther Hospital, Eau
Claire. He was born April 26, 1898, in the Town of Warner to Mr. and Mrs. Simon
B. Johnson. He attended Christopherson School. On June 11, 1929, he married Lois
R. Cole at her family home in Bakerville. Following their marriage, the couple
lived in the Town of Warner. In 1969, they moved to Greenwood. The celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary in June of this year.
Leonard worked part time with his uncle in the telephone business and farmed
until 1941, when he became a full-time employee of the Greenwood Telephone
Company. He worked there until his semi-retirement and continued to work part
time in the company office.
He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the Greenwood Senior Citizens
Club and had served on the Christopherson School Board.
He is survived by his wife, four sons, Dale of Eau Claire, Sam of Granton, Harry
of Greenwood and Ray of Cadott, a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Vera) Prust, Plymouth,
15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a
brother, six sisters, and a grandchild.
Funeral services were held from Our Saviors Lutheran Church, December 10.
Pallbearers were Jim, Mike and Jeff Prust, Brian, Scott and Dean Johnson.
