Haigh, Clarence (7 May 1890 – 19 December 1979) With Flag

Clarence Haigh, 89, was buried Saturday afternoon, December 22, following services at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. William Noble of the Neillsville United Methodist Church officiated with interment in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Haigh, a resident of the Neillsville Memorial Home, passed away in that facility on December 19. He had been in failing health.

He was born on May 7, 1890, in the Town of Lincoln, Buffalo County, to Thomas and Anna (Goll) Haigh, the deceased received his education in that area. He attended a dairy short course in Madison and was a cheesemaker in rural factories in the Greenwood area as well as in Somerset, Hillsdale and for the Cheese Federation of Wausau.

Just after serving with the U.S. Army during World War I, Haigh, married Edna Buker, in March 30, 1920, Greenwood ceremonies. The couple returned to Greenwood in 1932 where they farmed until retiring in 1956, moving to Neillsville. He had been a resident of the Neillsville Memorial Home for the past year.

Surviving him are two sons, Owen of Neillsville and Duward of Reno, Nev.; Two sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Amanda) Noah and Mrs. Peter (Julia) Kurth, both of Cochrane; one brother, Alfred, Cochrane; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, November 22, 1967, one son, one sister and four brothers.
