Kaczor, Alice Helen (Engagement - 1980)

Recently announcing the engagement of their daughter, Alice Helen, of Merrillville, Indiana, to Paul Wood of Crown Point, Indiana, were the bride-to-be’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kaczor, Rt. 1 Neillsville. Alice is a 1966 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1971 graduate OF UW-Stevens Point and is a teacher in the Merrillville Schools. Paul, a graduate from Andrean High School and from Spring Hill College, is a division manager for Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Chicago’s Gary, Indiana, bottling plant. No wedding date has been set.

Kaczor, Alice (9 August 1980)

The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated at Neillsville’s St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church ceremonies, the afternoon of August 9, marking the marriage of Alice Kaczor and Paul Wood. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kaczor of Rt. 1 Neillsville and Richard Wood of Birmingham, Alabama and Beverly Wood of Tampa, Florida. The father of the bride presented her to the altar.

Serving as maid of honor at the 2:00 p.m. ceremonies was Bonnie Kaczor, a sister of the bride from Milwaukee. She was joined by Carol Vesa, a friend from Merrillville, Indiana.

Paul Damm, a friend from Wanatah, Indiana, was bestman. He was joined by James Curran, another friend from Patterson, N.Y. Leon Kaczor, a brother of the bride from Neillsville, and Robert Flugel, a cousin of the bride from Pittsville, were ushers.

Ryan and Kristy Bieneck of Neillsville were ring bearer and flower girl. Ryan carried a pillow decorated with Ukranian embroidery while Kristy caried a colonial bouquet of silk rose buds and baby’s breath.

“The Wedding Prayer” and ”The Lord’s Prayer” were the musical offerings by Janice Mayer and Paul Tess. In a special part of the service, the groom presented the bride’s mother, and the bride presented the groom’s mother with a long stem red rose.

The bride chose a chiffon-over-taffeta gown, featuring a crystal pleated trim and a Juliet cap with fingertip veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of silk roses and baby’s breath. Her maid of honor wore a silver blue chiffon over taffeta gown and the bridesmaid a dusty rose chiffon-over-taffeta. They carried silk roses on lacy white fans to match their dresses. The groom was attired in a pale gray tuxedo while his attendants wore pale gray jackets and black trousered tuxedos.

Following the ceremonies, a reception for 300 was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. The couple then left on a wedding trip to Lake Tahoe and San Francisco.

Prenuptial events included a rehearsal dinner at the Moonlite Inn hosted by the mother of the groom.

The new Mrs. Wood is a graduate of Neillsville High School, holds a B.S. degree from UW-Stevens Point and an M.A. from Valparaiso University. She is a teacher in the Merrillville Schools. Her husband is a graduate of Andrean High School and Spring Hill College, he is presently divisional manager for Coca-Cola of Gary, Indiana.
