Lautenbach, Edward (11 February 1897 – 3 January 1980)
Edward Lautenbach, 82, Neillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 3, in
Neillsville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lautenbach was buried in the church cemetery,
following the funeral services, January 7, in Zion American Lutheran Church, in
the Town of Grant. The Rev. Maynard Stokka officiated.
He was born on February 11, 1897, in the Town of Grant to Julius and Emma (Beer)
Lautenbach, and he received his education in the area. On October 6, 1920, he
married Amanda Gerzmehle in Black River Falls ceremonies. The couple farmed in
the Town of Grant until shortly after the death of the death of his wife on
February 1, 1969, causing him to move to Neillsville one year later. He was a
member of Zion American Lutheran Church.
Surviving him is one son, Norman, New Berlin; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Geneva)
Schultz, Wauwatosa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also listed
as survivors is one sister, Mrs. Theresa Gotter, Wales, and two brothers,
Reinhart of Neillsville and Ewald of Milwaukee.
Supplying music for the funeral service were Joann Grassman and Martin Hillert.
Serving as Pallbearers were Joe Mesar, Art Schlinsog, Martin A. Krause, Robert
Schlinsog, Arno Winter and Emil Schlinsog.
