Mattes Livestock Auction Anniversary with 1273 head of livestock being sold at
the three day sale at the Mattes Livestock Auction Market, Inc.
166 head of horses were sold at the Sunday sale for a total of $21,595.75. Pat
Burke of River Falls was the largest consignor and received a $25.00 Savings
Bond. John Vershay of Neillsville received $5.00 for one of the door prize
drawings. Chester Green of Cadott received $10.00 on the second drawing, and
Jean Holtman of Eau Claire $10.00 on the third drawing.
On Monday 822 head of livestock were sold, Darrel Horn being the largest
consignor and Harold Machtan the largest bury for Packerland. They each received
a $25.00 Savings Boyd. Dennis Oberle of Gilman received the $5.00 door prize on
Monday, Louis Stakes a $10.00 door prize, and Norman Wundrow of Boyd also a
$10.00 door prize. The Monday sale came to a gross of $167,133.45.
285 head of cattle were sold at the Tuesday Dairy and Feeder Sale for a total of
$86,080.02. Ray (?) was the large Consignor, and Richard Fliflet of Sheldon was
the largest buyer. They each received a $25.00 Bon. Richard Duce of Stanley
received the $5.00 door prize, and Donald Ranzenberger of Caledonia, Minnesota,
and Laura Nelson of Spencer each received a $10.00 door prize.
