September 23, 1973)
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 26, 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s
Church, Thorp, with interment being made in the parish cemetery.

Hickman, Mary (28 Jan 1893 – 23 Sep 1973)
Funeral services were conducted by Father Brockman at St. Bernard’s Church on
Wednesday, September 26, 1973 at a 10 a.m. mass for Mary Hickman, who passed
away at the home of her daughter on Sunday, September 23rd, after a lingering
illness.
Mary was born to Frank and Waburger Bradle on January 28, 1893 at Sherry,
Wisconsin, where she lived until moving to Marshfield, Wisconsin.
When still a very small girl, she moved with her parents to Loana, Wisconsin,
remaining there until she moved to Thorp in 1909.
She was united in marriage to John Hickman on September 10, 1912. She spent all
her remaining years in Thorp.
She had dedicated most of her life to bringing new lives into the world and
nursing many people back to health. She served many years at the blood bank.
Surviving are her husband, John; one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Alma) Bujalski of
Chicago, Illinois; one grandson, John (Janet) Bujalski; one great-granddaughter,
Julie Ann, also of Chicago, Illinois; four brothers, Edward of Laona, Wisconsin,
Leo of St. Paul, Minnesota, Leonard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and William of
Marshfield, Wisconsin; one sister, Clara Bradle of Laona, Wisconsin, and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Burial was at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Hedler, Anthony
Purnick, Frank Schmidt, George Schmidt, Raymond Stroming and Frank Wadzinski.
