Nelson, Donald Edward (9 September 1931 – 21 October 2021)
Donald Edward Nelson, formerly of Spencer, passed away early Oct. 21, 2021,
while living at Marshfield Health Services at the age of 90.
Don was born Sept 9, 1931, to Lenard & Grace Nelson in Cadott. He married Marion
Richtmyre in 1954 and lived in Racine. He worked in a machine shop. They
divorced in 1968. Don then married Laura Rogers in 1971 and moved to Spencer. He
worked at Land O Lakes. He enjoyed wood working and made toy boxes and bassinets
for his grandchildren. They enjoyed camping. Don also loved fishing and hunting
with his sons. After Laura passed away in 2004, Don enjoyed spending time with
his special friend, Patty. They enjoyed going out to eat, cards & a good dice
game .Don also had a faithful companion, his little dog Bella, whom he loved to
take rides with.
Don is survived by his sister, Joanne (Bob) Terry; and his children, Karen
(Kevin) Lentzen, Steven (Elkie) Nelson, Tom (Gayle) Nelson, Robert Nelson, Kim
Hudack and Paul Nelson; also many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Don is
preceded in death by his wife, Laura; and son, Daniel Nelson; 4 sisters and a
brother.
A service is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 27, 2021. Visitation will be at 9:30
a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. at Hansen Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer.
The family would like to thank Touch of Home & Marshfield Health Services for
his care the last few years.
