Pernsteiner, Alice J. (31 October 21, 1966 – 20 October 2021)
Alice J. Pernsteiner, 54, of Loyal, passed away at home on Wednesday, October
20, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Alice Jean Wiechers was born on October 31, 1966, in Medford, the daughter of
Gunther J. and Sandra J. (Mengel) Wiechers. She was raised in Owen until the age
of 10, when her family moved to Loyal. She graduated from Loyal High School in
1985. After high school, Alice worked as a bartender in Loyal area. She was
united in marriage to Jeffrey J. Pernsteiner on July 9, 1988, at St. Anthony
Catholic Church in Loyal. Alice raised her three children, farmed with her
husband, Jeff, and tended bar for 11 years in Loyal. She later worked 8 years at
the root beer stand in Loyal for Walter and Maureen Wirkuty.
She had many interests, but especially loved being with her family camping,
campfires, being out in nature, fishing, playing cards, ice skating, and playing
"Kick the Can" with her grandchildren.
Alice will be dearly missed by her husband, Jeff, of Loyal; her children:
Shannon (Ryan) Soyk of Marshfield, Jay of Greenwood, Justin of Loyal; four
grandchildren: Addison, Avery, and Aleah Soyk, and Jax Pernsteiner; two
brothers: Hank Wiechers of Owen, Mark Wiechers of Loyal; two sisters: Dawn
(Jesse) Pernsteiner of Turlock, CA, Jennifer (Aaron) Gilbert of Tomahawk;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her
parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at St.
Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial
will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Soyk, Bob
Froeba, Aaron Gilbert, Hank Wiechers, Jay Pernsteiner, Jack Pernsteiner, John
Pernsteiner, and Justin Pernsteiner. Visitation will be held at the church, on
Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
