Huls, John M. (12 Oct 1898 – 24 Oct 1973)
John Martin Huls, 75, died of a recurrent cerebral Thrombosis on October 24,
1973 at Victory Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at St.
Bernard’s Church on Saturday, October 27, with Father Francis Brockman
officiating. Burial was made in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Joe Piwoni, Frank Schmidt, John Maier, Val Wyczawski, Tom
Polnaszek and Edward Polnaszek.
Mr. Huls was born October 12, 1898 at Wrightstown, Wisconsin. He was united in
marriage in 1919 at Thorp, Wisconsin to Sophie Bogumill who preceded him in
death. Mr. Huls was well known in his earlier years as a horse dealer, bartender
at Club 73, when owned by Frank Kinas; in the school bus business and excavating
business before retirement.
Surviving him are three daughters: Mary Ann Rosemeyer, Thorp, Del Petrusse,
California, and Josella Mock, Milwaukee; one brother, Arnold Huls, Chippewa
Falls, nd one sister, Kathryn VanLoo, Thorp.
