Cole Ida A. (15 Nov 1883 – 22 Nov 1973)

Mrs. Frank Cole, 90, Route 3, Fort Atkinson, died at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1973, at Countryside Home, Jefferson, after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. November 26 at the Dunlap Memorial Home, the Rev. Donald F. Bittner, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, officiating. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery. The pallbearers were Kenneth, Timothy, and Frederick Krause, Fort Atkinson, William E. Krause, Milton, Lawrence A. Collins, Wausau, all nephews, and William Bendig, Fort Atkinson.

The form Ida A. Krause was born in Cold Spring County on November 15, 1883, the daughter of William and Bertha (Plautz) Krause. In 1903 she came with her parents to reside on a farm south of Thorp, and in 1906 was married to Otto Darge. Years later she returned to Fort Atkinson to live, and in 1977 was married to Frank L. Cole, who died on February 29, 1964.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph Darge, Florida, Raymond Darge, Fort Atkinson; and one daughter, Mrs. James (Eunice) Bowler, Fort Atkinson; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth; her parents; four brothers, Charles II, Paul, Fed W. and William H. Krause, and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Barth.
