Julius “Jul” Borek, 95, of City Point, passed away on Monday November 1, 2021, at House of The Dove, Marshfield.

Julius was born March 28, 1926, in Spaulding, at the family home, to John Borek and Salemae (Zajac) Borek. He went to School at the Spaulding school house. Early occupations included mossing, family farming, and bricklaying. He was in the military, the Korean War, as a mechanic. He also drove a fuel delivery truck, started an automotive upholstery business in WI Rapids, and spent many years as a cement mason. Jul was also Town of City Point assessor for many years. In 1976 he purchased an Ocean Spray cranberry marsh near Warrens and later refurbished the family farm into a cranberry marsh and continued to operate the marshes until retirement. Besides his love of his cranberry operation he enjoyed hunting, listening to and dancing to polkas, and spending time with his family.

He married Darlene Dickman on July 2, 1960, in Marshfield. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2010. He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers since 1950. He was a member of Martyrs Chapel until it closed and then Saint Joachim’s Catholic Church. Jul also belonged to the Wisconsin State Cranberry Association.

Julius is survived by his children Christophor (Sharon) Borek of Warrens, Jenny Borek Brockman (Jon Brockman) of City Point, and Angela (Dan) Ostrowski of City Point. He is also survived by grandchildren, Eric Harder, Tiffany Greiner, George Greiner, Robert (Kendra) Ostrowski, Cassandra Ostrowski (partner Devin), Kyle (Sarah) Brockman, Courtney Brockman Meyer (Lyja Meyer), and great grandchildren Xavier and Autumn Harder, Rose Kowalski, Wilder Brockman, Noelle Brockman, Jax Montes and Audrey Fischer.
