Cheney, Elaine Marie (16 October 1938 – 22 July 2021)
Elaine Marie (Reams) Cheney, age 82, passed away at Compassionate & Care Group
home, Racine. Her daughter, Pam (Cheney) Scott, was by her side on July 22,
2021.
Elaine was born October 16, 1938, to Cecil Reams Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Reams (Stegner)
in Neillsville. She was one of nine children. She went to school in Neillsville,
and eventually settled in Kenosha. She started her own Travel Agency, Ascot
Travel, in Gurnee, IL. Travel was a passion of hers throughout her life that she
shared with friends and family.
Elaine loved spending time with family and was known as the Bon Appetit cook
among her siblings. She volunteered for many years at the Kenosha Hospital gift
shop.
She is survived by daughter Pamela Cheney (Steven) Scott of Mechanicsburg, PA;
son Thomas (Heidi) Cheney of Gilbert, AZ, her significant other Tony Witkauskis
of Kenosha; sisters: Diane (Ronald) Sievers of Vista, CA , Sandra (Reams) Ermenc
of Las Vegas, NV, Yvonne (John) Cray of Sikeston, MO; brothers: James (Judy)
Reams of Fond du Lac: Grandchildren Emma Cheney, Ryan Cheney and Brianna Gamero-Cheney;
two great grandchildren: Noelle Hunt and Pearce Hunt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Cecil
"Sonny" Reams Jr., Barbara Polewayzck, Veronica (Reams) Jacobs, and her brother
Francis Reams.
Elaine battled Alzheimer's and COPD for several years. The family has requested
any donations made in honor of Elaine Cheney be a contribution to the Kenosha
Area Family and Aging Services. They along with the ADRC helped guide Elaine's
family when she needed additional support services.
