Ray Stroinski, local telephone employee, was elected President of the Thorp Volunteer Fire Department when they held their annual meeting at the fire hall last Monday.

Other persons who will serve as officers include the following:

Vice President – Ed Swatzina
Secretary-Treasurer – Jack LaGasse
Fire Inspector – Jack LaGasse

Fireman Swatzina, on being elected Vice President, automatically become the chairman of the Annual Fireman’s Ball to be held in March.

Robert Bodamer, fire chief, was recommended for the position. The recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for appointment.

Jerry Slowiak was elected as a new member of the Fire Department.
