Forster, Roy A. (22 Jan 1900 – 31 Dec 1973)
Roy A. Forster, age 73, a resident of route 3, Stanley, Township of Thorp (Clark
Co.), died Monday evening, December 31, 1973 at Victory Memorial Hospital,
Stanley. He was born January 22, 1900 in Durand, son of the late Joseph and
Barbara Forster.
Mr. Forster grew up in the Durand area. On January 22, 1924 he was united in
marriage to Agnes Harmon. They came to the Town of Thorp in 1928, where they
farmed for several years and have resided there since. Mr. Forster was a
substitute mail carrier for many years and held various positions with the Town
Board of Thorp Township. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish at Stanley.
Survivors are his wife, Agnes; two sons, Vaughn Forster, route 3, Stanley, and
Paul Forster, District Heights, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis)
Dolle, and Sister M. Lorraine, both of Spokane, Washington; seventeen
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five
brothers, three sisters and his parents.
Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Holy Family Catholic
Church, With Father Leonard Kaiser officiating. Interment was at St. Mary's
Cemetery.
